Connect your Gmail, Outlook or Microsoft 365 email account to JournoFinder with Google or Microsoft sign-in. Available on: all paid plans. Not included in the 7-day free trial.
A mailbox is an email account you connect to JournoFinder. Your email campaigns send from your mailbox, so journalists see your real address. Their replies come back to JournoFinder.
Connect a Gmail mailbox
In the sidebar, under Outreach, click Campaigns.
Go to the Email Accounts tab.
Click Connect account. The “Connect an email account” window opens.
Click Gmail. JournoFinder takes you to Google.
Sign in to the Google account you want to send from.
On Google's permission screen, tick the Gmail box. Then click Continue.
You see “Connecting account” for a few seconds. Your mailbox then shows on the Email Accounts tab with the status “Connected”.
Google lets you click Continue without ticking the Gmail box. If you do, the mailbox does not connect and JournoFinder shows “One checkbox was missed”. Click Try connecting again and tick the box this time.
Connect an Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox
In the sidebar, under Outreach, click Campaigns.
Go to the Email Accounts tab.
Click Connect account.
Click Outlook / Microsoft 365. JournoFinder takes you to Microsoft.
Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to send from.
Accept the permissions Microsoft asks for.
You see “Connecting account” for a few seconds. Your mailbox then shows on the Email Accounts tab with the status “Connected”.
If you use a work account, Microsoft may show “Need admin approval”. Your company's IT admin must approve JournoFinder first. See Microsoft says "Need admin approval".
Add a sender name after you connect
The sender name is the name journalists see in the From line of your emails. JournoFinder fills it in from your Google or Microsoft account when it can.
If it cannot, JournoFinder opens your mailbox page after you connect. Sender name is marked “Required”, with the message “This account can't send until you add a sender name.”
In Sender name, enter the name journalists should see. For example, your first and last name.
Click Save changes. The bar shows “All changes saved”.
To change the sender name later, go to the Email Accounts tab and click your mailbox. Set your sender name, signature and sending speed covers the other settings on this page.
Limits
Each paid seat includes 1 mailbox. A solo account can connect 1 mailbox.
On a team, mailboxes are shared across the team. A team of 3 seats can connect 3 mailboxes in total, and one member can use all 3.
One email address can only be connected by one JournoFinder user. If someone else already connected it, you see “Connection Failed” with the message “This email account is already connected to another account. Contact support if you need assistance.” If that person is on your team, ask them to share it with you. See Share a mailbox with your team.
Reconnecting a mailbox you already connected does not use a new slot.
If you are at your limit, you see “You've reached your connected-account limit”. Disconnect a mailbox you no longer need, or upgrade your plan. See Disconnect a mailbox.
You can see your own limits at Preferences > Limits. Lifetime accounts may have different limits. Contact support to check yours.
To connect a provider other than Gmail or Outlook, see Connect another email provider with IMAP and SMTP.
