Disconnect a mailbox

Remove a connected mailbox from JournoFinder and see what happens to the email campaigns and follow-ups that use it.

Written by Veronica Fletcher

Disconnect a mailbox to remove it from JournoFinder permanently. Who can do this: the person who connected the mailbox.

A mailbox is an email account you connect to JournoFinder. Disconnecting it does not delete anything in Gmail, Outlook or your email provider.

Disconnect a mailbox

  1. In the sidebar, under Outreach, click Campaigns.

  2. Go to the Email Accounts tab.

  3. Click the mailbox you want to disconnect. Its settings page opens.

  4. In the “Disconnect account” section at the bottom of the page, click Disconnect account.

  5. In the “Disconnect Email Account” window, enter the mailbox's email address exactly as shown.

  6. Click Disconnect Account. The button stays greyed out until the address matches.

You see “Account Disconnected” and return to the Email Accounts tab. The mailbox is no longer in the list.

Warning: You cannot undo a disconnect. To use the address again, connect it again as a new mailbox. See Connect a Gmail or Outlook mailbox.

What happens to your campaigns

A campaign is an email and its follow-ups sent to a set of people. A follow-up is a later email in a campaign that sends if the person has not replied. When you disconnect a mailbox, every campaign that sends from it changes in these ways:

  • First emails not yet sent move to the campaign's other mailboxes, if it has any.

  • Follow-ups waiting to go from this mailbox are cancelled. A follow-up always sends from the same mailbox as the first email, so it cannot move.

  • If this was the campaign's only mailbox and the campaign is sending, it stops and shows “Error”.

This also applies to your teammates' campaigns if you shared the mailbox with your team.

Restart a campaign that lost its only mailbox

  1. Open the campaign and go to the Settings tab.

  2. Under Send from, tick another mailbox.

  3. Click Save changes.

  4. In the window that opens, click Save changes again.

  5. At the top of the campaign, click Resume. The campaign starts sending again.

Cancelled follow-ups stay cancelled.
