Creating a media list
The first step to creating a media list is to do a search. Unsure where to start? Our guide on how to make a search can help.
Once your search is complete, you'll see a list of articles. Next to each article, there's a checkbox - selecting this checkbox adds the associated journalist(s) to your media list.
You can also use the 'Journos' tab to select by journalist instead of article. Here articles written by the same journalist will be grouped up.
You will notice some greyed-out checkboxes.
This indicates no journalist information is available for those articles. To understand more about why this happens, refer to our media list FAQs.
If you would rather hide these articles, check the 'hide articles with no journos' box.
After selecting all the journalists you want to add, click the ‘Add To Media List’ button at the top right of the screen.
You'll be prompted to either create a new list or add to an existing one.
For a new media list, enter your desired name in the search bar and click the creation link.
Important: Aim to give your media list a unique and easily identifiable name. Once you have a few media lists, ‘test one’ doesn’t cut it anymore!
To add to an existing list, select it from the drop-down menu or search for it by name. A green tick will appear, confirming that all the selected journalists have been added to the list.
You can then continue to add more journalists to the media list from the same search or different searches.
Tip: A yellow tick next to a media list means that some of the selected journalists are already on that media list.
But rest assured that adding a journalist multiple times won’t duplicate their entry; each name will only appear once in a media list.
Other ways to add journalists to a media list
You can also add journalist to a media list directly from their profile.
Viewing a media list
To view your media list, navigate to 'Media Lists' in the menu bar, or click the navigation button in the 'Add To Media List' drop-down.
You will be able to see the journalist's name, contact details, job title and the outlet they work for, as well as access any social links.
