Feedly is a news aggregator and an excellent resource for discovering news articles and, by extension, journalists related to various topics.
If you're regularly doing digital PR on the same topics, it's a good idea to follow those topics on Feedly so you have a backlog of relevant articles - it's also an easy way to stay up to date on the news in your niche.
If this is your first time using Feedly, you'll need to search for some relevant feeds. On the free version, you can search by topic, such as AI, dating, or automotive. The paid version has more complex search options.
For this example, I wanted to find journalists who would be interested in the topic of dating. So I searched "dating" as a topic.
You'll be presented with a list of feeds matching your topic (dating here), and you can pick which ones you want to "follow". I added all the relevant feeds to a folder called "Dating Example", so everything was in one place.
Initially, you'll only see the most recent articles. To access older articles, scroll to the bottom and select 'Mark All As Read'. This will prompt Feedly to load them.
Now you have a list of recent articles on the topic of dating. The next step is to extract all the URLs so you can paste them into JournoFinder. I recommend the Linkclump Chrome extension for this.
It's easy to install and works well to extract links in bulk.
For this purpose, you can configure the settings as below:
Action = "copied to clipboard"
Copy format = "URLs only".
Then you can go back to Feedly, and press the "z" key (or whichever key you selected as the activation key) while you drag the mouse over the links. The links will be highlighted in red, and when you let go of the mouse, all the highlighted links will copy to your clipboard.
Next, all you need to do is go back to JournoFinder and paste the links in.
Note: Linkclump isn't the only option for extracting the links. For example, the "Detailed SEO" extension can also extract links in bulk.
