What is the JournoFinder AI Assistant?

An overview of the AI assistant that builds media lists for you, inside JournoFinder or through your own AI tool.

Written by Veronica Fletcher

JournoFinder's AI assistant builds a curated media list for you through plain conversation.

You describe your campaign or story, and the assistant searches our journalist and article databases, then assembles a list of the right reporters to pitch.

Every contact comes with a written rationale explaining why they fit your brief as well as recent article evidence if applicable.

Two ways to use it

1. Inside JournoFinder. The assistant is built into the app, so there is nothing to set up. Open it at app.journofinder.com/assistant and start a conversation.

2. From your own AI tool. The same capabilities are available as an MCP connection, so you can drive JournoFinder from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any AI tool that supports MCP.

Either way the underlying capability is identical. The only difference is where you are chatting from.

What the assistant can do

  • Understand your campaign brief, press release, or pitch - the topic and the angle you are coming at it from.

  • Use all of JournoFinder's search capabilities to find relevant journalists.

  • Evaluate every journalist against your brief to decide if they are relevant enough to be added to the media list.

  • Refine, segment, and export the list on request (see more about refining your list here).

Where your list lives

Your list is live as it builds. There is no separate finish or save step. The assistant will create your list, and you will see it under the 'media lists' tab in your account.

As the assistant adds contacts they appear in your list within a few seconds, and removals disappear just as quickly.

The assistant will give you a link to your list so you can watch it take shape, and that link stays live so you can return to it any time.

You will also see your list in the side panel of the chat, and you can click the title here to navigate to the fill media list page.

How can you access the AI Assistant?

The in-app assistant is available on paid plans and during a trial.

Connecting from your own AI tool requires a paid plan.
