Our dedicated Journalist Request platform will instantly alert you to relevant media opportunities and help you get featured in the press.
What is a Journalist Request?
Journalists often need to find experts to quote in their stories.
One way journalists find these experts is by putting a request out on social media or via a dedicated platform like Qwoted or Featured.
Our tool collates these requests from all over the web (all social media and every free-to-access dedicated platform).
You can set up AI-powered alerts to be instantly notified anytime a request appears that matches your area of expertise.
Searching for requests
Tl;dr
1) Enter your area of expertise
2) Chose text based matching or AI powered matching
3) Refine the results with filters
4) Create an alert to get notified the next time a matching opportunity appears
First, enter you area of expertise into the search bar.
For example, here we have typed 'weight loss' as our area as expertise.
There are two types of search: Text (T) or AI (purple sparkles).
Text based search will return requests that contain your keyword.
AI search will return requests that match your query, even if the exact keyword isn't mentioned. For example, our AI search for weight loss also returns requests effectiveness of diets even if they don't explicitly state they want a weight loss expert.
Filtering requests
You can refine the results with filters.
For example you can exclude certain sources or social media accounts from your results.
This is useful if you notice any accounts repeatedly posting requests that don't interest you.
Above we have excluded the X (Twitter) account '@Fashion_Monitor'.
Note: There may be several names or handles associated with the one account. In this case you will to exclude all these handles.
You can also use text based instructions with the AI search to narrow down the results. Here we have instructed the search to exclude requests that require a doctor.
If you're making searches and are struggling to find one that fits your needs - feel free to reach out to us and we will guide you in the right direction.
Setting up alerts
Once you have made a search, you will see a list of past requests that you would have been alerted to with that search.
You can then decide to turn on alerts for the search.
If you do, you will be emailed each time a new request appears that matches your search criteria. You can chose to receive instant or daily alerts.
Replying to requests
To reply to a request, you can press 'view' if you are on the platform, or 'view original source' via the email.
This will take you to where we first found the request.
If it's a journalist putting a request out on social media, you will be able to reply by DMing the journalist or emailing them. Sometimes they will provide their email in the request, and if not you can always search for them on our media database.
If the request comes from a dedicated platform, you will be taken to that platform and can reply from there. for most platforms you will need to create an account, but once you have an account you will be able to reply to the request.
Some platforms like Qwoted will limit the number of requests you can reply to for free, but other platforms such as Source Bottle and Help a B2B writer have no limit.
