When you add a journalist to a media list, they go through several checks to ensure we have the most up to date contact details.
Email Deliverability
When you add a journalist to a media list, we will automatically check the deliverability of their emails. We are able to verify most emails, including accept all emails.
This can take up to 60 minutes at busy times, but will often be much quicker than this.
Any emails that are flagged as undeliverable will be added to a queue for a manual check. We will update the profile within 24 hours.
When you export your media list, the last column 'Email Deliverability Notes' will inform you of the status of the email.
Email was verified at 11 Sept 2024 and returned "undeliverable" or Email was verified at 11 Sept 2024 and returned "risky"
An "undeliverable" status indicates the email has been checked and was returned as invalid.
A "risky" status indicates the email was unable to be definitively verified as deliverable or undeliverable.
In both cases, the email will be sent for a manual review where it will be verified by our team. Note that an undeliverable or risky status doesn't automatically mean the email is incorrect.
Emails can show as undeliverable due to a variety of factors including temporary server issues.

This indicates that the email hasn't been automatically checked yet.
Profiles with no emails
Any journalists you add to a media list with no emails on their profiles are also added to the queue for a manual review. Our team will search for an email and update the profile accordingly. This will be done within 24 hours.
If you have a particular journalist that you want updated sooner, you can request a manual review for that journalist.
