What to do after you get an alert

Turn a Reactives alert into a pitch. Find an angle from past campaigns, build your media list and send it.

Written by Veronica Fletcher

An alert gives you the story, a suggested angle and the coverage so far. Here's how to turn it into a pitch while the story is still running.

1. Decide quickly

Ask whether your client has something credible and useful to add. If they do, move fast. A good comment sent within a few hours beats a perfect one sent tomorrow.

2. Find your angle from past campaigns

If you can see there's a story but not the angle yet, ask the AI Agent how other brands have handled something similar.

It searches our database of PR campaigns found in published coverage, and shows you what triggered each one, the angle the brand took, the kind of spokesperson they used and where it landed.

Try asking

  • "A cold snap is coming. How have energy and home brands played this before?"

  • "Show me campaigns where a finance brand commented on an interest rate decision."

Use the results to sharpen your own angle. You can then ask the Agent to help you shape it for your client.

3. Build your media list

The best people to pitch are the journalists already covering the story. There are two ways to find them.

Ask the AI Agent

Describe the story and your client's angle, and the Agent builds the list for you. It searches live news and the journalist database, checks each journalist against your brief and explains why each one fits.

Try asking

  • "Build me a list of journalists covering today's heatwave warnings who'd want comment from an energy supplier."
